The Course

Take a tour of our course.

Redesigned in 1995 by one of Southern Africa’s leading golf course architects, Peter Matkovich, Chapman has emerged as one of Africa’s most prestigious golf courses. With the preferred Bent grass replacing the old Florida grass greens, improved Kikuyu fairways and the addition of several well situated bunkers, the course presents the golfer with a fantastic challenge in beautiful surroundings.

Not only does the tributary of the Mukuvisi River enhance the beauty of the course, but it also provides an added obstacle for the unwary golfer.

Playing at 6,521 metres in length the course offers a range of challenging and spectacular holes with the sixth, ninth,11th and 14th holes all structured close to the water hazards, bringing plenty of water into play. The par five 14th was completely re-shaped, with two dams combined into one and running the length of the fairway. The green juts out slightly into the dam and provides a fantastic challenge for the professional, whilst still allowing the less adept amateur the chance to play safe and contend with the bunkers rather than the less forgiving water.

The par three 17th is heavily guarded by 10 metre wide bunkers running almost the full length of the green on both sides. With only a small gap at the front between the bunkers this is definitely a test for any golfer.

The tee boxes have been re-shaped and developed to add a different perspective to some of the holes, whilst the superbly moulded greens allow for tricky pin placements to make the course a real challenge.
